Google Confirms Issue with Local Reviews on Business Profiles – Here’s What Real Estate Agents Need to Know
February 11, 2025At MyHome, we’ve recently received reports from our real estate agents that they noticed missing reviews on their Google Business Profiles. Some were losing reviews daily!
Initially, we suspected duplicate reviews might be the culprit, but after digging deeper, we found out—it’s not you, it’s Google!
If your review count looks off, don’t panic. Google has officially confirmed an issue affecting review visibility.
What’s Happening with Google Reviews?
Victoria Kroll from Google recently addressed the issue in the Google Business Profiles Forum:
📌 Some business profiles are showing lower-than-actual review counts due to a display issue. However, the reviews themselves have not been removed. Google is actively working to resolve this and restore accurate review counts as quickly as possible.
What Does This Mean for You?
✅ Your missing reviews are still there—they’re just not displaying correctly. ✅ Google is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. ✅ No action is needed on your part. ✅ If a review is missing permanently, check Google’s Review Policy in the Help Center to ensure it hasn’t been removed due to guideline violations.
Why This Matters for Real Estate Agents
As a real estate agent, your Google Business Profile isn’t just an online listing—it’s your digital resume. Homeowners who see your name on a yard sign or are referred to you will often look up your profile when they’re in a transactional mindset. What they see there—especially your reviews—can make or break their decision to contact you.
Your Google reviews are your references. They provide social proof of your expertise, professionalism, and the client experience you deliver. A strong collection of positive reviews builds trust and credibility, helping you convert more potential clients who find you through search.
The Power of a Steady Stream of Reviews
Regularly requesting and receiving reviews isn’t just about reputation—it can also positively impact your ranking on Google. A steady flow of reviews signals to Google that your business is active and relevant, which can help improve your visibility in local search results. The more visible you are, the more opportunities you have to attract and convert clients.
What Should You Do Now?
1️⃣ Stay patient – Your missing reviews should reappear once Google resolves the issue.
2️⃣ Keep requesting reviews – A consistent stream of new reviews will ensure your profile stays strong.
3️⃣ Engage with current reviews – Responding to existing reviews shows potential clients that you’re attentive and professional.
4️⃣ Monitor your Google Business Profile – If you notice persistent issues, check Google’s Help Center or reach out to Google Support.
At MyHome, we’re keeping a close watch on this and will continue to offer insights that impact your local business. In the meantime, stay proactive about collecting and managing your reviews—they’re one of the most powerful tools you have to build trust and win more business!
